Feb. 1939 Establishment of the Chemical Resources Laboratory (three divisions)
Aug. 1944 Establishment of the Fuel Science Laboratory (four divisions)
Mar. 1954 Integration of the above two laboratories into the new Chemical Resources Laboratory
Aug. 1977 Relocation to Nagatsuta Campus
Jun. 2009 Certified as "Network Joint Research Center for Materials and Devices" by MEXT along with the research institute of Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, Osaka University, and Kyushu University
Apr. 2016 Establishment of the Laboratory for Chemistry and Life Science
Oct. 2024 Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University are merged to establish Institute of Science Tokyo
