In the year 2000, the first Gratama workshop (Gratama Workshop 2000) was held in Osaka as one of the celebration activities within the commemoration of the 400 years of relations between Japan and the Netherlands.
The second Gratama workshop (2003) was organized in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The third Gratama workshop (2006) was organized in Hyogo, Japan. The fourth Gratama workshop (2009) was then organized in Delft, the Netherlands. The purpose of the workshops is to present and discuss contributions of chemical sciences and technology of both countries towards a sustainable society in the 21st century.
It is our great pleasure to organize the 5th Gratama Symposium gFrontiers in Chemical Scienceh, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan. We have plenary and keynote invited speakers from both Japan and the Netherlands to contribute to challenging topics.
